Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children are growing up fast. Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are luckily unaware of their parents’ rift with their Royal Family members, but it is just a matter of time before they begin asking questions. Interest in royal children will always be enormous. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been rumored to get another child, but Meghan Markle has been clear that “two it is.” Have they changed their mind? Now, Prince Harry is lifting the lid on getting a third child.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been busy with their business ventures and passion projects. Meghan’s cooking and lifestyle television show on Netflix is set to air. Prince Harry focuses all his attention on the Invictus Games held in Vancouver Whistler from February 8 until February 16.
The Sussexes have been known to do everything together, but that hasn’t been the case in recent months. Harry and Meghan have appeared solo at several events, which even brought rumors about their marriage possibly being at risk of breaking down. However, there could be another reason.
PR expert Ed Coram James believes that Harry and Meghan’s decision not to work together could be conscious Speaking to the Mirror back in October, Coram James explained that the Sussexes have had a “distinct brand as a duo for many years. But since the infamous Oprah interview–which basically was the start of the feud with the royals–their brand has become “more toxic” and “commercially untenable.”
The PR expert stated that big brands are most likely to be cautious about paying Harry and Meghan to work with them because of this.
“This is because the ongoing confrontation with the rest of the Royal Family, as well as much of Meghan’s family, have made them appear confrontational and combative, their string of commercial projects that haven’t worked out and have led to a sense that they aren’t the best producers. And their worldwide publicity tour made them look whiney, ungrateful, and unconscious to the enormous privilege that they have enjoyed,” Ed Coram James told the Mirror.
“To overcome the obstacles of appearing spoiled, arrogant, immature, attention-seeking, aggressive, fight-picking, hypocritical, and incompetent is very tricky. But, it is achievable. To do it, they need to lean into the exact opposites of these labels. The first step in this always had to be to dissociate themselves from the brand that had achieved such labels in the first place.”

The PR expert continued: “When combined, the Sussexes brand is, from a PR perspective, toxic. But, when separate, they have a genuine chance of creating an entirely separate brand, with completely different labels. If they manage to achieve this, then one day they could again reunite brands, and create a new combined brand that works.”
Meghan has focused much of her attention on her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchid, in the last year. Meanwhile, Harry is focusing on the projects closest to his heart, The Invictus Games, and other charities, which means the married couple is beginning to drift away from each other regarding work.
That is one of the main reasons why rumors surrounding their possible split began circulating in the first place, and the Duke and Duchess will most likely continue to work alone.
That’s at least according to royal watcher Phil Dampier, who says they will go separate ways. “I think Meghan is genuinely doing a lot of work in the background for this Netflix project and American Riviera Orchard,” he told The Sun.
“She probably wants a bit of a hiatus so that she can launch that. As for Harry, obviously he’s been back and forth with a few charities. They do seem to be going their separate ways. There’s no evidence that they’re splitting up at the moment personally.”
“Individual brands could indeed work in their favour”
PR expert Ed Coram James argued that Harry and Meghan could be better off if they decide to brand themselves rather than work together. Renae Smith, founder and director of PR firm Atticism, also agrees, but there could be some bumps shortly. He told the Daily Express that although Harry and Meghan’s decision to go solo could benefit them in the long term, it could also have negative aspects in the short term.
“I think their decision to pursue individual brands could indeed work in their favour over the long term, although it’s bound to spark a fair amount of public speculation in the short term,” he said. “From a PR perspective, this shift might allow each of them to create distinct brands that better reflect their different priorities and resonate more coherently with their individual audiences.”
While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have their hands complete with their business, two other things are more important. The couple is raising their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in their multimillion-dollar mansion. As of today, the two youngsters don’t have a clue about the feud their parents and the Royal Family are involved in, and when they get older, they will surely start asking questions about what happened.
It’s been three years since Lilibet was born, and some have wondered whether Harry and Meghan will follow Prince William and Kate Middleton in having three children. Will it happen? Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seem to have a firm opinion about it.
Will Harry and Meghan have a third child?
In 2019, when Archie was just one year old, Prince Harry was interviewed in Vogue Magazine about using one technique to help the environment, which some might find controversial. Harry stated he simply feels that there should be a limit on the number of children one can have.
“I think, weirdly, because of the people that I’ve met and the places that I’ve been fortunate enough to go to, I’ve always had a connection and a love for nature. I view it differently now, without question. But I’ve always wanted to try and ensure that, even before having a child and hoping to have children..,” Harry said.
The interviewer, Dr Jane Goodall, replied, “Not too many!” and laughed. Harry continued, “Two, maximum! But I’ve always thought: this place is borrowed. And, surely, being as intelligent as we all are, or as evolved as we all are supposed to be, we should be able to leave something better behind for the next generation.”
Meghan Markle spoke about how many children she would like in the infamous Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021, which was the first time the Sussexes spoke out about their negative experiences while still members of the Royal Family.
“[I’m] just grateful to have any child. Any, one or two, would have been amazing but to have a boy and then a girl what more can you ask for? Now we’ve got our family, we got the four of us and our two dogs,” Meghan told Oprah.
Harry added that they were “done” with two children, to which Meghan replied, “Two is it.”
Harry speaks out on having a third child at the Invictus Games
So has Harry and Meghan changed their mind? Now, the Duke has spoken out about parenthood – and having another child. During an interview with CTV at the Invictus Games – Harry’s project for wounded veterans – Harry described how being a father is “amazing.” So what about another child? Harry admitted, “I think one or two kids is probably enough… I definitely think that.
He continued, “I know some people who’ve got five. I just say, ‘Well, that’s your own fault!’. Having kids is amazing, but it is… it’s a journey every single day, every single week, they just grow, and they change. I love the questions that they ask and the experiences and the challenges that they give you. It’s great.”
Prince Harry has put a lot of energy into the Invictus Games, which are now being held in Vancouver, Whistler. In the interview with CTV, he further explained how the games have helped not only those who participate but also himself.
“When you’re around these people, you hear other people’s stories, and you can make that connection with your own experience. There’s just a lot of weight that gets taken off your shoulders because a lot of these individuals feel or have felt very lonely,” he explained.
“I think over the course of our service, we’re led to believe that the problems that you have encountered or the issues that you are carrying are somehow unique to you within that service, and when you come to the Games, you suddenly realise that actually, that’s not the case at all. I get so much out of hearing their stories, and that may sound weird, but I get my own sort of cure and confidence from them, knowing that what we’re doing is working.”
