Melania Trump has been among Donald Trump’s biggest supporters over the years and it’s fair to say she’s stood by him through a lot. The last few years have been tumultuous, not least because of the many court cases against her husband. Melania, perhaps wisely, has chosen to stay out of the spotlight.

She and Donald will once again return to the White House in January, though it’s unclear how much time Melania will actually spend there. Reports suggest that the future First Lady won’t live in the White House full-time, but if that is the case, it appears that Donald has a new best friend he can lean on.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk worked closely with Trump during the presidential campaign, with sources now claiming he’s pretty much worked his way into the family fold. Musk was recently handed a role in Trump’s new administration, and his work – and financial assistance – in helping Donald to victory in the most recent election cannot be understated.

One can imagine that the relationship Elon and Melania must be at least functional given how much time the former has spent with the latter’s husband. Recently, Melania revealed her true feelings for the Space X and Tesla bigwig.

Following the resounding election victory, it’s now set in stone that Melania Trump will return to the White House with her husband, even if People Magazine‘s sources have claimed it’s ‘unlikely’ that she will live there full-time.

“If Melania becomes first lady again, of course people expect her to move into the White House and perform appropriate duties,” a source close to the Trump family said, adding that Melania isn’t keen on relocating to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

“She will have her private living apartment there, and she has her home in New York and her home at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach. She will spend time in all of these places.”

Melania Trump – will she live at the White House?

Mary Jordan, author of The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump, told ABC: “She has told people, ‘Look, I’m not the one elected.’ So if she wants to go down to Mar-a-Lago and hang out by herself for two weeks, do that. But she is going to be in the White House. She loves a lot of the pomp and circumstance.”

Moreover, sources have told CNN that Melania is expected to mainly live at Trump Tower in New York in order to remain close to her son, Barron Trump, who recently enrolled at New York University. According to the news outlet, she will also spend time at Mar-a-Laga in Palm Beach, Florida.

“She has carte blanche – she can be as active in the East Wing or as inactive as she cares to be,” Kate Bennett, author of Free, Melania, told CNN.

Bennett continued by saying that Melania has decided not to use the past four years to build her own platform, as other first ladies, such as Laura Bush and Michelle Obama, have done.

The author and former CNN White House correspondent explained that first ladies “can retreat into relative privacy, but they still maintain the platform agenda that they established. That’s a big rift. We can respect her need for privacy, but we have to question how deeply she did not use her global recognition.”

Melania Trump said she’s “not anxious” about White House return

Bennett added: “The missed opportunity of this period between her tenure in the White House has been the lack of a continuing platform or policy agenda that most first ladies build on.”

CNN has previously reported that discussions about Melania’s involvement in the Trump Administration are “ongoing.” Meanwhile, it’s pretty clear that the Slovenian-born former model is only slightly interested in engaging in any significant political causes. In October, Melania told Fox that a second term in the White House would be different.

“I’m not anxious because this time is different. I have much more experience and much more knowledge. I was in the White House before. When you go in, you know exactly what to expect,” she said.

Donald Trump, meanwhile, has already begun assembling his administration. There will be a big change in personnel compared to his first presidential tenure, and perhaps the most talked-about person to take on a role at the White House is Elon Musk.

The tech billionaire has promoted his belief in Donald Trump mainly on X, the platform he owns. When the presidential campaign was coming to a close, Musk appeared next to Donald at campaign meetings. When Donald claimed his victory on Election Day, Musk was standing next to him.

Donald Trump’s “bromance” wth Elon Musk

Elon even appeared in a Trump family photo taken at Mar-a-Lago, and it’s clear for the world to see that there’s a definite bromance between he and the future POTUS. However, not everyone appears to be enthused about the Tesla founder constantly being at Mar-a-Lago.

A source told NBC that Musk has begun to wear on people close to Trump’s inner circle, particularly those who believe he is overstepping his role in the transition to the White House.

“He’s behaving as if he’s a co-president and making sure everyone knows it,” one source told NBC. “And he’s sure taking lots of credit for the president’s victory. Bragging about America PAC and X to anyone who will listen. He’s trying to make President Trump feel indebted to him. And the president is indebted to no one.”

Elon hasn’t commented on the claims himself. However, in a statement, Trump-Vance transition spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said they are “great friends.”

“Elon Musk and President Trump are great friends and brilliant leaders working together to Make America Great Again. Elon Musk is a once in a generation business leader and our federal bureaucracy will certainly benefit from his ideas and efficiency.”

Melania Trump’s true feelings about Elon Musk

In another statement, Trump-Vance spokesperson Anna Kelly said: “Elon Musk is a genius, an innovator, and has literally made history by building creative, modern, and efficient systems. Elon Musk has dedicated himself to America’s future by offering to serve with President Trump to ensure our government works more efficiently and uses America’s taxpayer dollars effectively.”

Trump has announced that Elon Musk will co-lead a new “Department of Government Efficiency” with Vivek Ramaswamy. That will likely mean Musk will be around at the White House, possibly sharing space with Melania.

Not much is known about Melania and Elon’s relationship. But speaking to PageSix, a source claimed they are getting along well.

“Melania likes Elon,” the source said, adding that she has “been around more.”

While Melania has appeared happy about her husband’s White House return, a body language expert claims she wasn’t pleased when her husband declared himself a winner on Election Day.

Donald and Melania shared a relatively rare moment of public affection when they appeared on stage to meet their voters. The former The Apprentice star turned to Melania, smiled, and said, “Come here, honey,” as per the Mirror.

Body language expert said Melania showed “no emotion” on Election Day

The two shared a big hug and exchanged a kiss. While many saw it as a beautiful moment, one body language expert was not convinced. Darren Stanton stated that Melania was reluctant to walk to her husband on stage, claiming there was “no closeness.”

“When Trump looks back at Melania and gestures to her to come over for a hug, she reluctantly comes forward,” Stanton said on behalf of Spin Genie.

“It’s very disjointed and awkward, and there’s no emotion from her. We don’t see any genuine smiles from Melania, it feels like a smile she has adopted for the occasion.”

Stanton continued: “There’s not the level of emotion you’d expect given her husband has just been elected president. It’s all quite contrived, she’s just reluctant to show any emotion, there’s no real happiness or joy. There’s always an awkwardness with Melania.”

The former and future First Lady has been absent from her husband’s presidential campaign, but that’s not to say she hasn’t been busy herself. Melania released her self-titled memoir, Melania, earlier this year, writing, among other things, about the horrific assassination attempt on her husband. In doing so, Melania said she feared for her son Barron’s life.

Melania Trump spoke out about assassination attempt on her husband

“When I watched that violent bullet strike my husband, Donald, I realized my life, and Barron’s life was on the brink of devastating change. I am grateful to the brave secret service agents and law enforcement officials who risked their own lives to protect my husband,” Melania wrote, as per CNN.

“To the families of the innocent victims who are now suffering from this heinous act, I humbly offer my sincerest sympathy. Your need to summon your inner strength for such a terrible reason saddens me.”

Melania continued: “A monster who recognized my husband as an inhuman political machine attempted to ring out Donald’s passion – his laughter, ingenuity, love of music, and inspiration. The core facets of my husband’s life – his human side – were buried below the political machine. Donald, the generous and caring man who I have been with through the best of times and the worst of times.”
