Prince George and his siblings can enjoy some well-deserved time off from school now that summer is here. Only time will tell what the royal plans for the summer but it’s more than likely they will spend some time at Sandringham and/or Balmoral.
While George has had quite a busy last few months, not least landing himself a prominent role at his grandfather King Charles’ coronation, there’s also been time for him to enjoy some traditional sports. At the weekend, George joined his father for the cricket series known as The Ashes, played between England and Australia in London. The young prince looked content as he enjoy pizza alongside his father – though there were also pictures of him that worried certain royal fans.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis see plenty of each other each day. All three attend Lambrook School, which the siblings began attending after their family moved to Windsor.

The distinguished, £21,000-a-year Lambrook School gives the three royal siblings an excellent education. Of course, there will come a day when George, the eldest of the trio, will transfer to another school.
When Prince William and Kate Middleton moved to Adelaide Cottage, Windsor last year, their children naturally switched schools. Lambrook has many activities on its grounds for the children to engage in, including a 42-acre cricket ground, rugby and football pitches, an art building, and even a golf course. The fact that it’s located only a 15-minute walk from George, Charlotte, and Louis’s home makes it even more convenient.
It should go without saying that Lambrook is a prominent school with high tuition. Of course, the Royal Family can afford the expense, but that doesn’t mean William and Kate want their children to become spoiled.
At Lambrook, if pupils want to go on a school trip, they have to raise the money themselves and not get it from their parents. It’s those types of values that the Prince and Princess of Wales want to instill in their children growing up, thus helping to keep them grounded.
While at the school, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis can engage in various activities, including joining the debate team, horse riding, and even caring for the school’s pigs and chickens.
“They want them to know how lucky they are”
According to royal expert Jennie Bond, Prince William, and Princess Kate want their children’s lives to be “as normal as possible.”
“They want George, Charlotte, and Louis to be very aware of the privileged way in which they are growing up. Have a proper sense of empathy, charity, and responsibility,” she told OK! Magazine.
“It’s very much the Diana style of parenting. They want them to know how lucky they are and not take any of it for granted.”
Just weeks ago, Prince William announced his five-year campaign to end homelessness in the UK. At the time, he spoke about his children and how he’s trying to make them aware that they are very privileged.
“When I left this morning, one of the things I was thinking was, ‘When is the right time to bring George or Charlotte or Louis to a homeless organization?’ I think when I can balance it with their schooling, they will definitely be exposed to it,” he told The Times.
“On the school run, we talk about what we see. When we were in London, driving backward and forwards, we regularly used to see people sitting outside supermarkets, and we’d talk about it.”
Prince William added: “I’d say to the children, ‘Why are they there? What’s going on?’ I think it’s in all our interests, it’s the right thing to do, to expose the children, at the right stage, in the right dialogue, so they have an understanding. They [will] grow up knowing that actually, do you know what, some of us are very fortunate, some of us need a little bit of a helping hand, some of us need to do a bit more where we can help others improve their lives.”
Prince George and his parents were spotted at Eton College
Prince George might be enjoying his time at Lambrook, but as a future king, his education will take another turn in a few years. A couple of weeks ago, the young prince was spotted alongside his parents looking around Eton College. Both Prince William and Prince Harry attended the prestigious boarding school in the past.
Tuition at Eton is said to be around £46,000 ($59,000) a year. Though Prince George won’t join the school until he turns 13, children have to be registered for the school during the year that they turn 10, according to the school’s website.
So what would it mean if George attends Eton? According to the Express royal correspondent Richard Palmer, surprisingly it says a lot about Kate.
“I find it fascinating because the Princess of Wales is spending so much of her life talking about giving children a better start in life, and part of that, she and her advisors have talked about reducing inequality,” he said.
“And there you have her children at a fee-paying independent school, almost certain to go to an expensive fee-paying boarding school later on.”
Prince William and Kate Middleton have always said they want to give their children a normal childhood. But if that is the case, would they send them to a boarding school like Eton?
“Sad” to send George to boarding school, royal expert says
According to former BBC royal expert Jennie Bond, it doesn’t make sense.
“The choice of school for the children will tell us a lot about William and Catherine,” she told OK!.
“So far, they’ve been such a hands-on parent and, personally, I think it would be sad to see them send their children away to boarding school. I would applaud a decision to keep them as day pupils at schools nearby their homes. But I think both William and Catherine were happy at boarding school.
“I suppose it’s what they know, and perhaps they will want to pass this experience on to their children.”
Bond added: “I imagine it will be all or nothing – in other words, all three will go away to school, or none of them. I will be cheering loudly if they decide to keep their children close and nurture them through their adolescence as they have nurtured them through the young years.”
While school is important, the summer is also a time to have fun, relax, and be outside.
For the royal children, that will undoubtedly be the case. Hopefully, they’ll get to go swimming, eat strawberries, and do all the other things a child wants to do during the warmer months.
This summer began well for Prince George, as he joined his father for the cricket series played between England and Australia, known as The Ashes, at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. The young prince was seen hanging out with his father, eating pizza, cheering on the England team, and even greeting Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Body language expert Inbaal Honigman told the Daily Star that George certainly seemed “fully engaged” at the sporting event.
“George appears older than his years. We don’t see any fidgeting; he’s sitting patiently, watching and chatting,” Honigman said. “He uses clear facial gestures to respond to what he’s seeing and hearing, showing us that he is responsive.”
The body language expert continued: “Young children are often lost in their own thoughts and their own world, but not George. He’s fully engaged with the environment around him.”
Adrianne Carter, also known as The Face Whisperer, said George sometimes came across as “self-conscious” at previous sporting events. However, this time, he didn’t seem shy at all.
“William comes across as a hands-on parent and willing to take the time to spend with his oldest son one on one. He wants to show a close bond to the world,” Carter said.
“In this clip we see a confident boy growing and being calm under scrutiny. In some clips at previous events, George can often look self-conscious but we don’t see any of that in this clip.”
Royal fans are concerned for George – he wasn’t wearing sunglasses
But even though Prince George seemed to be having a great time with his father, certain royal fans expressed concern for him. On social media, several spotted that the prince was missing something rather critical from his outfit: sunglasses. Moreover, William was wearing them to help with the sun’s glare, but his son wasn’t.
“Prince George needs some sunglasses, he is screwing up his eyes, sunshine is too strong,” one royal fan wrote on Twitter, as per the Mirror.
Another wrote: “They should get Prince George some sunglasses.”
“Prince George needs to wear sunglasses as well as Dad,” a third stated.
It’s not the first time Prince William – and Kate Middleton, for that matter – have been criticized for how they have dressed their eldest son.
Last summer, Prince George accompanied his parents to the Wimbledon men’s final to watch defending champion Novak Djokovic’s win over Nick Kyrgios.
The match lasted three hours, giving photographers plenty of time to get some great shots of Prince George as he took in the action.
“Poor child”
However, pictures appeared to show George in discomfort as well. Temperatures in London were high that day, and the young prince was feeling the heat.
“[It’s] too hot,” George told his dad, “as reported by Sky.
William replied: “Oh you’re hot, are you? It’s very warm today […] It’ll be fine.”
As reported by the Daily Express, royal fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts. Many of them were concerned.
“Poor child having to wear a suit in this hot weather,” one user wrote.
“Why do they dress him in a suit and tie and in this heat? He’s a boy, not a grown-up,” another stated.
A third said, “Poor Prince George, he must be boiling in that suit.”
