Every animal loss is a great disaster for our planet. Though some zoo animals live for decades this is not the case.
Berlin was a polar bear who had been living in the Kansas City Zoo. However, the zoo recently announced her death.
Berlin has lived a 33-year-long life and had everything she needed. She was born on December 11, 1989, shortly after the Berlin Wall fell and that’s why was named Berlin. She was born at the Cincinnati Zoo but then she was taken to the Kansas City Zoo in December 2012. She was the oldest polar bear in the US.
Though it was very sad to announce the death of the polar bear the zoo claimed that Berlin was known as “a beloved ambassador for her species and helped contribute to research that has benefited the wild polar bear population.”
