Now we know what Emilia Clarke’s Mera might look like in Aquaman 2 if Warner Bros. switches her to the role from Amber Heard.

With the Amber Heard/Johnny Depp trial on the horizon, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has been dogged by controversy this year.

While the trial was making headlines earlier this year for the messy legal battle between the two stars, speculation swirled regarding the impact of the trial on Heard’s future with Aquaman.

Heard’s role was rumored to be cut, as Warner Bros. was looking to hire a new actress to play Mera in the follow-up to last year’s box-office success. Emilia Clarke, who was Jason Mamoa’s Game of Thrones co-star, has emerged as a favorite to replace Heard.

Fans have a chance to see just what Clarke would look like if she assumed Heard’s role, thanks to a stunning new piece of fan art!

With fans wanting Emilia Clarke to replace Amber Heard as Mera, digital artist Deigo de Sousa has showcased a jaw-dropping new concept art portraying Clarke playing the character.

The art shows Clarke in the iconic Mera costume introduced by Heard in Aquaman and sporting the character’s signature hair color. The art is just a concept preview of what Clarke would look like as Mera, but we are truly speechless!

Fans of DC Comics’ Mera call for Clarke to play the character when they see her potential look.

Is Aquaman 2 going to feature Emilia Clarke in place of Amber Heard?

There seems to be great excitement among fans about seeing Emilia Clarke play Mera in Aquaman II, Warner Bros. Discovery has not announced any plans to recast the role, though executives said they had considered it.

During the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial earlier this year, DC Films President Walter Hamada disclosed there was concern about recasting Heard due to a “chemistry issue” between the actress and Jason Momoa.

Although it was decided not to recast Heard for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, there is always the possibility that the character might be recast if anything additional is approved. It is true that Warner Bros. Discovery is experiencing a lot of change at the moment.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is not going to feature Emilia Clarke, though a search on Google might lead you to believe she is in it. There is a cast carousel feature on Google about Aquaman 2, which includes Clarke’s name. However, Game of Thrones star Clarke is not scheduled to appear in the film.

It is always possible DC will bring Clarke into the mix, as she is not currently attached to any DC projects. However, she is attached to a Marvel project and will appear in Secret Invasion, an original Disney Plus series next year.
