It’s been a long time coming but it’s finally happened, guys… Chris Evans has been named People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2022.
After years and years of waiting, the 41-year-old has been given the honor of gracing the cover this year, much to his fans’ delight.
The exciting news was announced on November 7 by late-night talk show host, Stephen Colbert. During a segment of his show, Colbert introduced Evans as a “Hollywood movie star and incandescent supernova of hotness”. He also gave us all a glimpse of the highly-anticipated cover shot.

Let me paint the picture for you; a tanned Chris Evans, wearing a white t-shirt, straight-leg trousers, with fluffy brown hair. Come on. We have no choice but to get behind it.
And the other snapshots that came with the shoot were just as dreamy. One showed Evans lying on a deck chair with one too many buttons of his shirt undone while another saw him on an old country lane with a motorcycle.
What’s not to love?

Paired with all the photos came a candid interview with the Marvel actor, in which he revealed that despite his friends teasing him about his latest achievement, his mom would be over the moon.
“My mom will be so happy,” he told the outlet, “She’s proud of everything I do, but this is something she can really brag about.”
Throughout the interview, we also got confirmation as to why Evans is a worthy winner for this year’s top spot. From “sitting in front of the fireplace in a quaint farmhouse,” to being “dressed in a cozy knit sweater and jeans” and wanting to “jump into said fireplace [rather] than talk about being sexy,” we can’t help but gush at the description of an attractive, yet incredibly humble man.
Or is that just me?
Either way, we’re here for it.
In any case, the news comes after it was predicted last year that the Knives Out star was going to win Sexiest Man Alive 2021. Instead, fellow Marvel actor and star of Ant-Man, Paul Rudd, was crowned the winner – a worthy contender, to say the least.
But the people have finally gotten what they’ve been waiting for, and for that, we couldn’t be more thankful.
Evans joins a long list of other handsome A-listers who have previously won the award including Chris Hemsworth, John Legend, Brad Pitt, Idris Elba, and Dwayne Johnson.
