Actress and stand-comedian Roseanne Barr celebrated her 70th birthday. The actress has had a long on-screen career, but some of her discriminatory comments have cost her a lot.

Barr was the lead character in her fan-favorite sitcom “Roseanne,” but after the actress twitted a racist remark and compared former President Barack Obama and his former advisor Valerie Jarrett to an ape, she lost it.

Barr has been open about her support for former president Donald Trump. But she blamed her distasteful joke on her bad health and lack of emotional balance.

She said it sounded funny at the moment, but she missed the mark. Another reason for Barr’s racism was that she thought Jarrett was white.

The actress experienced immense backlash and confessed to hiding for several weeks. According to People, when Jarrett was asked how she felt about Barr’s comments, she dismissed it and said, “Roseanne who?”.

But, when asked if she would be watching Barr’s stand-up performance, the former government official said she would not and hoped no one else would for the sake of a “teachable moment” for the comedian.

Barr was aware of Jarrett’s response and said, “I recognize she thinks I wronged her,” and said initiating a public apology was frustrating because she was ridiculed for the same thing repeatedly.

However, amid the controversy, Barr apologized and cited she was leaving Twitter. The actress expressed that the backlash ended her career and life, but she was proud to have overcome it.

Life for Roseanne Barr after Her Show Was Canceled
Life for Barr after her successful show was canceled called for introspection and transformation of both her professional and personal life. After three failed marriages, Barr met her life partner John Argent, a writer and producer.

The actress said they spent a year talking on the phone, so she first fell in love with his voice. Barr even said she did not care how he looked as long as he had teeth. But their first meet was a pleasant surprise; Barr said Argent was one the most handsome man she had encountered.

The couple is not in a hurry to tie the knot. According to the Globe, every time the marriage question arises, Argent insists that he and Barr are doing fine without the ring.

In her book “Roseannearchy: Dispatches from the Nut Farm,” Barr credited Argent as her life partner and thanked him for “caring about truth and justice.”

Argent and Barr love to read books and share videos of their interests on Barr’s Youtube page. Argent recently published a book, “Henry Hoskins and The Hole Factory,” and the actress praised her partner for his impressive writing skills.

According to Closer Weekly, Barr and her life partner purchased a home with a macadamia nut farm in Hawaii. The house sits on 46 acres of land.

The pictures the comedian has shared on social media show that the Hawaiian home looks like paradise. With beautiful sunsets, a lot of greenery, and a garden of blooming colors from the different flowers.

Barr revealed that her home used to be a museum, and she renovated it to her liking. The three-bedroom and three-and-a-half-bathroom home greet you with a front entrance decked with thriving green plants and a bench to sit and take in the view.

The kitchen is equipped with wooden cabinets and stainless steel appliances. However, from the picture Barr shared, her kitchen is so big it has space for a bed.

The “Roseanne” star shared another picture of herself in her living room which has a bohemian feel to it. There is a green accent wall with wooden furniture and a neural floral carpet that ties in with the rest of the house.

Barr also worked hard to transform her body. According to Women’s Health magazine, Barr hit 350 pounds in the 1990s, which prompted her to get professional help to shed the weight.

In 1998 the sitcom veteran admitted to undergoing a gastric bypass, which made her lose 80 pounds. But after shedding that much weight, Barr faced the dilemma of accessing skin, which she fixed with a tummy tuck.

The journey was not easy for the actress; along the way, she confessed to gaining more weight, but Barr did not punish herself for it.

She continued to work hard. The comedian shared that her life-changing diet was being more active and eating healthier. Her goal was to continue maintaining a healthy lifestyle because she loved how much lighter she felt.

Roseanne Barr on Being a Grandmother
After all the life changes that Barr has endured, the actress told Extra TV that being a grandmother impacted her life the most. The comedian has six grandchildren and feels responsible for guiding her children to become good parents to their offspring.

Barr said it gives her a reason to be pushier, but she wants her grandchildren to have a good and healthy upbringing. With a successful love life going for her and the joy of being a grandmother.
