The signs of a heart attack aren’t always easy to spot. And when dad-to-be Jonathan Cedillo started feeling some pain shooting through his shoulder, he figured it was from a wrestling injury.
Thankfully, God used John’s baby girl, Juliette Francine, to put him in the right place at the right time.
John’s daughter, Juliette, wasn’t supposed to arrive for another month. But in a case of divine timing, John’s fiancée, Vanessa, went into labor early. And that’s because God had a special purpose for this little miracle baby!
After a couple of days by his wife’s side at the hospital, John Cidello was feeling “really bad and achy.” Anyone who has spent the night at the hospital as a visitor knows how hard it is to get any good sleep. So, John headed home to try and get some rest. He would return the next day to pick Vanessa and Juliette up for their discharge.
But things didn’t get any better at home. Every 10 to 15 minutes he’d awaken because of the pain in his shoulder.
John Cidello is a professional wrestler. And just a few months prior to his daughter’s birth, he suffered an injury to his spine and shoulder. As a result, he would get pain in that area intermittently.
So, the shooting pains he started getting after his wife’s labor didn’t stand out to him as a sign of a heart attack. He figured it was just his old injury acting up again.
When John returned to the hospital the next day to see his wife and baby girl, the pain was so bad he had to lie down immediately after giving them a kiss hello.
“If I had not been in the hospital at that particular moment and they caught it, I would’ve just shrugged it off as just more pain from my shoulder injury,” he said.
Thanks to the premature birth of his daughter, John was right where he needed to be as things escalated quickly.
Nurses picked up on John’s struggles and quickly recognized the signs of a heart attack. They alerted other hospital staff and John immediately received the life-saving medical treatment he so desperately needed.
Doctors realized John had been having heart attacks and they discovered a 100% blockage. But because he received such immediate treatment, doctors succeeded in clearing it and putting in a stent.
Had John not been at the hospital right then to see his wife and newborn, the signs of his heart attack would have gone untreated and things would have ended very differently.
“He probably would’ve passed away the house, possibly by himself or even later that night,” his fiancée, Vanessa, explained.
Thankfully, though, God used John’s and Vanessa’s precious child to save her dad’s life.
“She saved me, and I will be her sentinel and guardian as long as I can,” John said.
“My times are in your hand. Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me.” Psalm 31:15
