By sharing a heartfelt tribute on his official Instagram account, the Duke of Sussex broke his silence over the loss of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
Prince Harry, who is 37 years old, has paid homage to his “admired and beloved” grandmother Queen Elizabeth II following her death on Thursday, September 8.
On the day of the Queen’s passing, the Duke of Sussex and other members of the Royal Family traveled to Balmoral Castle. The Duke of Sussex and his bride, Meghan Markle, remain in the United Kingdom for the time being.
After speaking to the public about his loss, the father of two children now appreciates the Queen for her “service,” her “excellent advice,” and her “infectious smile.”
The whole statement made public by Prince Harry, who is now known as the Duke of Sussex, is as follows:
“In remembering the life of my grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, as well as lamenting the loss of her, we are all brought back to the role she played as a moral compass for a great number of people via her dedication to duty and service.
She was held in high esteem and admiration all across the world.
Her grace and dignity never wavered while she was alive, and they continue to be a part of her legacy even after she is gone.
Let us echo the words that she spoke following the demise of her husband, Prince Philip, words that can bring consolation to all of us now: “Life, of course, comprises of last partings as well as first meets. Let us remember this.”
Regardless of how painful this last parting is for all of us, Granny, I will be forever thankful for each and every one of our first meetings, from the oldest memories I have of my childhood spent with you, to the first time I worked for you as Commander-in-Chief, to the first time you held my adored wife and your treasured great-grandchildren in your arms.
I will always be grateful for the times we have shared together as well as the numerous other special occasions that have occurred between.”
“Not only by us but by others everywhere in the world, you are already sorely missed. In terms of first meetings, we now honor Charles in his new role as King Charles III.
I appreciate how committed you have been to providing the service.
I appreciate the wise advice you gave me.
I wanted to thank you for your infectious smile.
We’re heartbroken, but we’re also glad to hear that you and your grandfather are back together and at peace.”
This statement was made only one day after Kate Middleton and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex presented a unified appearance alongside Prince Harry, his older brother Prince William, the Prince of Wales, and Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex.
The four couples, once known as the “Fab Four,” joined together to meet and greet onlookers in front of Windsor Castle and to read the messages placed on flowers for the Royal Family.
