Today’s media is an ever-influential aspect. We are constantly bombarded by images of the perfect smile with dazzling white teeth, the perfect job with an impressive house or car. The most pressing thing today are the ideals that so many women compare themselves to, thanks to the fashion industry. It starts at a young age for a lot of women. Some, when they were given their first-ever Barbie doll as a young child. Our story today is of Tara Jayne, a nurse, who so badly wanted to look like the traditional Barbie that she spent $200,000 to morph herself into that image – with the help of some plastic surgery.
Before we get into that, here is a little history on the iconic Barbie doll that so many aspire to be. Barbie has been a big influence on modern society. She made her debut in America in 1959. Since then she has been the prize of every little girl’s dream body. Now being portrayed as the picture-perfect image of a female. Invented by Ruth and Elliot Handler from the inspiration of their daughter who would scrunch bits of paper into the shape of a doll that looked like an adult.
Ironically, She was meant to inspire thoughts of their future (which was a pressing matter for young girls during that era) as opposed to a fashion and body image icon. Elliot and his wife, Ruth, were probably not expecting to be making history with their design, but they sure did!
So many women today are turning to cosmetic procedures to reshape some parts of their bodies. Whether it be breast augmentations, facelifts, Botox, fillers, and a lot more. This can be quite a pricey affair, but if you are a cosmetic nurse, you are constantly exposed to the procedures. So, it is understandable for them to want something done for themselves. Our story today is of one cosmetic nurse, named Tara Jayne, who loves getting a little cosmetic procedure done now and then.
Tara loves it so much that she has spent $200,000 on various plastic surgeries so that she would look like a Barbie doll. She describes plastic surgery as her way of “expressing beauty and empowerment.” So far, she has had up to five breast augmentations, six nose jobs, and a countless amount of Botox and fillers. This is some serious dedication, not to mention direly expensive. Botox and filler injections are great for anti-aging effects, and plumping or even reshaping parts of your face like your lips or cheekbones.
Tara has become pretty famous for having so many procedures done. Her Instagram handle is tara_jayn3, and she has over 96k people following her cosmetic journey and day-to-day life as Barbie personified. Since then, she has done multiple interviews with various media shows and articles in magazines. She was even on the Morning Show, where she made the statement; “I think in this day and age, it’s very important for a woman to be able to express the way they feel just express everything about beauty.”
