Dwayne Johnson, once a professional wrestler and now a huge movie star, just recently surprised a fan of his. The fan’s story moved the muscle-bound actor so much that The Rock gave his fan an early Christmas present just before Thanksgiving.Navy veteran Oscar Rodriguez had no idea what Johnson, now 49, was going to give him his custom Ford F-150 Raptor.
Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot have recently enjoyed the success of their new film “Red Notice”.
A special theater screening of the film took place and The Rock wanted to do “something cool” for all of them. Moviegoers got to enjoy free concessions and ice cream during the movie.
According to The Rock, he wanted to do something “massive” and “unforgettable” for one fan. The original idea was to give away the Porsche Taycan in the movie but Porsche refused.
Johnson is not a man who gives up so he decided to give away his personal custom truck. A truck he calls his “baby.”
“I gathered as much information as I could about everyone in the audience and ultimately, Oscar’s story moved me,” he wrote on Instagram.
A humble Navy veteran, Rodriguez is a personal trainer who takes care of his 75-year-old mom. He’s also a leader at his church. Women who are victims of domestic violence also find solace through Rodriguez’s help.
The rock loves his fans and this was no different as he makes an unexpected appearance during the screening. He went on to talk about Rodriguez before inviting the Navy veteran to join him.
“Your story really moved me because I hear that you’re a personal trainer, you’re always keeping it positive and motivational and optimistic,” Johnson told Rodriguez.
Rodriguez answered, “I’m just speechless. I’m so glad to meet you, I feel so encouraged right now, so uplifted. I’m encouraged by your motivation. I follow you on Instagram, I listen to your words. You inspire me. And yeah, let’s do it. Let’s change the world, one person, at a time.”
Johnson went on to invite Rodriguez outside where he gave him a card that he wrote addressed to “Oscar.”
Rodriguez took the card and read it aloud. It said, “Thank you for your service, brother. Enjoy your new truck.”
Rodriguez couldn’t believe what he was reading. He dropped to the ground beside the truck overcome with emotion.
“What the heck is happening?” he exclaimed as he jumped up and hugged Johnson.
“I thought this was your truck, bro!” Rodriguez says to Johnson who replied, “It is my truck! Now it’s your truck!”
Rodriguez just had to show his girlfriend so he FaceTimed her to show her that he was with Johnson.
He deserves it. The Navy veteran happily drove away in his new Ford but not before telling Johnson, “It’s just love, bro.”
“[It was] just an honor for me to give a little bit of joy to someone who deserves a lot more than just my truck,” Johnson reflected before jokingly saying that he needed a way to get home now.
“I have no words to express how blessed and grateful I am !! Again no words only scripture,” he wrote before quoting the Bible, “With my whole heart, with my whole life, and with my innermost being, I bow in wonder and love before you, the holy God! Yahweh, you are my soul’s celebration. How could I ever forget the miracles of kindness you’ve done for me?” Psalms 103:1-2 TPT.”
