For the first time, newly discovered footage of Grease star Olivia Newton-John and country superstar Dolly Parton singing ‘Jolene’ has been made public.

The collaboration is part of Olivia Newton-upcoming John’s posthumous CD, Just The Two Of Us: The Duets Collection. The late musical star also collaborates on the record with John Travolta, Barry Gibb, Mariah Carey, and many more.

Newton-John died in August of last year at the age of 73. “Olivia has been a symbol of achievements and hopes for over 30 years, sharing her struggle with breast cancer,” said her husband, John Easterling.

“Her therapeutic inspiration and pioneering expertise with plant medicine live through the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, which is committed to planting treatment and cancer research.”

This upcoming CD intends to commemorate that. As a result, it seems appropriate that the first single be with Parton, who begins the video by characterizing her late friend’s talent as “one of my favorites of all time.”

“We’ve always stayed friends over the years,” Parton continues, “and I’m just so thrilled to be a part of this duets endeavor that she’s undertaking.”

Adding: “We’re singing one of my fave [songs] I’ve ever written, ‘Jolene.’ She thinks it’s one of her favorites, so why not perform a duet of ours?”

The record is slated for release on May 5th. It is designated as a commemoration of her life and friendships. “My lovely Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better,” Travolta said in homage.

“Your influence was enormous. I adore you to pieces. We’ll see you later, and we’ll all be together again. Yours from the minute I saw you to the end of time! Your Danny and John!”
