Gary and Angela Williams of Overton, Lancashire, were walking on the beach when they found something that others thought was a common stone. It all happened on Middleton Sands Beach in the UK, here’s what they found. When they approached the object, they froze. The story went even crazier when they found out what they had discovered. It looked like a dinosaur egg, the two weren’t sure, but it was as if something was telling them they needed to investigate the matter further. It’s a very good thing that they followed their intuition because it turned out that the object is worth a fortune! But what the hell was it ?!

Apparently, the two had come across something called Amber Gray, and although at first glance it may seem worthless, in fact, it was quite ugly and smelled bad, it was actually something extremely valuable. According to Discover, Gray Amber is “made” in the intestines of sperm whales, it is one of the most expensive ingredients used in perfumery, being used as a scent fixer in luxury perfumes!

“When sperm whales swallow sharp objects – such as the horny beaks of squid, which are their usual food – their intestines secrete a sticky substance that envelops these sharp debris so as not to injure the intestinal mucosa. Over time, these residues agglomerate in the form of lumps of various sizes, which are removed either with feces or regurgitated. Under the influence of the sun and the seawater, this mixture turns into a hard matter, with a specific aromatic smell ”.

The piece of amber was like touching wax, and it smelled awful, as Gary describes it: “There was something between fish and natural fertilizer,” sounds great, doesn’t it? In the end, it turned out that the one-and-a-half-kilogram stone was worth $ 70,000, but it should be noted that in some countries it is illegal because it is linked to whaling.

That makes a discovery, doesn’t it? Scroll down for more content! SHARE this with your friends. Thanks
