Tim Hawkins is a funny comedian who often combines music and song parodies in his routine. He entertains the audience with his jokes and his musicianship. This particular bit involves Tim being asked to sing at a friend’s wedding.

Tim says he sings at weddings, “Believe it or not.” People begin to laugh as he stands in comedic disbelief looking insulted, saying, “Why don’t y’all shut your mouth.”

He talks about how his one friend asked him to sing for his wedding with just two weeks’ notice because the previous singer backed out. Tim sarcastically says, “Flattered, thank you.” He says they asked him to sing while the bride walks down the aisle, and Tim responded, “You sure about that?”

He told Tim to pick the song, and Tim welcomed the opportunity. He tells the audience it’ll be something they’ll never forget. He strums and starts the first song, singing Tina Turner’s ‘What’s Love Got to Do With It?’ The audience starts laughing, and Tim says, “That wouldn’t be very appropriate, would it?”

He sings, “Heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend who, heard it from another you been messing around.” Obviously, it’s another song that would be bad to sing as a bride walks down the aisle! ‘Take it on the Run’ by REO Speedwagon has never been used for that purpose.

Tim continues offering up funny suggestions for the wedding song, including U2’s ‘I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,’ and The Rolling Stones’, ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want.’

He closes his hysterical set list of wedding song ideas with Aerosmith’s ‘Dude Looks Like a Lady.’ Tim’s singing and comedic delivery make the audience crack up at the thought of him performing these tunes as a bride walks down the aisle.
